The new owners of The Summit Steakhouse, Stephen and Hopi Mondale, are transforming this classic but dated restaurant into a beautiful, welcoming place. The old carpet had been removed from the walls, new canned lights have gone up in the lounge, and a modern new stained concrete dance floor has been installed. Stephen is hand-crafting the cleaver copper strainer lights and Hopi did an amazing job of hammering and straining the wood to be used for the new booths herself (pictured below)! The booths will be installed in the lounge area tomorrow, Friday, July 14. Stop by the Summit for Happy Hour on Friday and be one of the first guests to sit in the new booths!
Stephen is also the head chef at the Summit and is creating a new menu for the restaurant. Stephen is keeping the prime beef and seafood on the menu, but we hear he will be adding some fabulous new, more affordable menu items that will appeal to the younger crowd and to anyone on a budget.
The restaurant is open for business during construction. You are encouraged to stop by to meet the charming new owners, Stephen and Hopi, and experience for yourself the new ambience they have created at The Summit. (BTW–You won’t want to miss Stephen’s rooster collection!) The Summit Steakhouse is located at 2700 S Havana at Yale Ave. They are open Monday-Friday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturdays 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sundays for brunch from 10-2, with the bar/lounge/patio open from 2-4 p.m. and dinner is from 4-10 p.m. The phone number at The Summit is 303-751-2112.
On Havana Street is working with Stephen and Hopi to plan a big grand re-opening party at the new Summit Steakhouse the third or fourth week in September 2017. More details will be coming soon.
