The buildings are beginning to come out of the ground at the new affordable housing development, Village at Westerly Creek.
Village at Westerly Creek is located just north of Kentucky Ave along Ironton St. Phase III calls for eight residential buildings and one maintenance building. The site is 5.4 acres. New townhomes and stacked flats with 1-4 bedrooms will provide 50 low-income family units and 24 low-income senior units. There will be a central playground and a community garden. There will be an on-site manager and staff who are employees of the Aurora Housing Authority. This will be an “Enterprise Green Community” which is a requirement of the Colorado Housing & Finance Authority (CHFA) which is helping to fund this affordable housing development. The family units are expected to be open late Summer 2018 in time for the school year.
After several delays, Phase III of the Village at Westerly Creek, S Ironton Street between Exposition and Kentucky, has broken ground! Mud is the name of the game this week after all of the rain we have had. Truckloads of road base arrived this morning for the entrance drive so the construction vehicles can work without getting stuck in the mud. Phase III at Village at Westerly Creek is an Aurora Housing Authority low-income development consisting of rental townhomes and stacked flats.
