Congrats Aurora on your new Amazon Fulfilment Center!

April 14th, 2017

Havana BID Executive Director, Gayle Jetchick, serves on the Aurora Citizens’ Advisory Budget Committee and she is always looking out for business interests not only in the Havana District, but also for all of Aurora.  The members of the budget committee have been strong advocates for the city’s new business friendly policies by encouraging new businesses to locate in Aurora and create jobs for area residents.   All of the hard work by Aurora legislators, area economic development groups and special committees like CABC has resulted in this incredible Amazon Fulfilment Center project being built here in Aurora!

Gayle went on the hard hat tour of Aurora’s new Amazon Fulfilment Center on 4/14/17  which is located in the Prologis Park 70 along 19th Ave near the intersection of I-70 and 470.  This is a huge new facility of over 1 million square feet.  Amazon will be hiring 1,000 workers full time with benefits once this fulfilment center is completed!   Currently, Amazon, Fiore and their sub-contractors have hired 750 workers to build this new facility.

Amazon is making a commitment to the Aurora community to hire locally and to emphasize hiring ex-military and wives of active duty military families.  Aurora has a strong military history and Amazon wants to support our military families.  At the hard hat tour, Amazon presented a check to the Military Family Relief Fund and Prologis matched their donation!

Congrats Aurora!
