Visit Aurora hosted their incredible Q1 Hospitality Networking event at the Stampede on March 21, 2019. This wonderful gathering showcased the Stampede as one of the unique venue and meeting space options on our On Havana Street business district corridor. Visit Aurora invited many destination service industry professionals, hotels, city and state partnerships, group travel agencies, community partners, the Aurora Chamber of Commerce and our stakeholders and businesses on the Havana Business Improvement District corridor.
The fun western themed event revealed to all the newly renovated Stampede. Many discovered a country-western side of Colorado complete with a live bull, birds of prey, cowboy photo ops, music by Loose Change, line dancing, steer-roping lessons, and hardy appetizers by Rolling Smoke BBQ. Plus many attendees shared nostalgic memories from 10-20+ years ago when they first met their spouse or enjoying The Chamber’s Taste event, and even the past “Girls’ Night Out” for the infamous “Stampede Ladies Nights.”
The networking event was hosted during our Celebrate Small Business Month On Havana Street and we are so grateful to our newest addition, the Stampede. In May 2018, the business improvement district learned that the Stampede was sold and to be remodeled. We were thrilled to meet the new owner Chris Swank. He is an extraordinary business entrepreneur and perfect addition to our stakeholders On Havana Street. Chris Swank has other successful music ventures under his belt, including Goosetown Tavern, La Rumba, and the Bluebird Theater. He has transformed the Stampede into the metro’s leading country-western dance venue and the only event space on Havana Street that can host up to 1600 attendees.
