GET READY, GET SET, GO!
2019 Grocery Cart Race at Safeway September 17, 2019 to benefit the Comitis Crisis Center, Aurora’s only homeless shelter. This is the biggest fund raiser of the year for the Homeless in Aurora.
We are looking for grocery cart racing teams: Teams of 3-4 racers and their pit crews come up with a team name & theme, costumes, and cart decoration. Teams fund raise (individual and corporate donations) for Comitis Crisis Center and Colfax Community Network and use the funds to shop for groceries at Safeway during the race. Your team only needs to raise $250 to race at the silver level. You can come watch the races for free.
The 9th Annual Grocery Cart Race is very similar to the fan favorite game show Supermarket Sweep. We are excited to welcome former Game Show Host David Ruprecht as the 2019 event emcee at Safeway. You do not want to miss out this year as spots are filling up fast.

All of the cart race instructions, registration information and Comitis Food Pantry “Wish List” are included in this packet.
Teams can use manufacturers’ coupons and the Safeway Club Card to shop. The prices at Safeway change every Wednesday, so we hold this event on a Tuesday night to allow the teams a week to do their price recognizance and get the most for their funds.
