Join On Havana Street for the 2026 Trick or Treat at the Gardens on Havana Shops & Halloween Costume Contest at Aurora Police Department District 1 Substation – Gardens on Havana

Location and Address for Halloween Costume Contests: Aurora Police Department District 1 Substation – Gardens on Havana, *1250 S Ironton St #120, Aurora, CO 80012 – near the NEW Vasa Fitness (former Dick’s Sporting Goods) and the Rose Garden

On Havana Street, we will be sponsoring and supporting the Halloween Costume Contest and the Trick-or-Treat at the Gardens Shops on Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 11 am to 1 pm.

On Havana Street will partner with business stakeholders and tenants at AMCAP’s Gardens On Havana Shopping Center and support the Halloween festivities businesses are hosting.

Gift cards from the On Havana Street Shops will be awarded to the Halloween Costume Contest Winners.

How to Participate

1. Enter to win the Halloween Costume Contest in-person at The Gardens on Havana – Aurora Police Department District 1 Substation – Gardens on Havana from 11 am-1 pm.
2. Come in your Halloween costume, trick or treat at the store & take a photo at the APD Substation to enter the contest. Address of the APD Substation is *1250 S Ironton St #120, Aurora, CO 80012 – near the NEW Vasa Fitness (former Dick’s Sporting Goods) and the Rose Garden
3. Sign the photo waiver for the costume contest entry, select the costume category for the costume contest: Child, Adult, Group, or Pet, and complete the contact information card for APD and On Havana Street to contact the selected winner. Contact information will not be shared and will only be used to contact the contest winner.
4. Trick or Treat from 11-1 pm at The Gardens on Havana, participating shops  – Address of Gardens on Havana Shopping Center: 10551 E Garden Dr, Aurora, CO 80012
5. This year, the Havana BID board requested that the District purchase Trick-or-Treat candy from small businesses, local global markets, and shops in the corridor. The candies are purchased from M Mart (Korean and Asian candies), Seoul Station by Seoul Hospitality Group (Korean candies), Camel Halal International Market (Middle Eastern and Halal treats), Solomon’s European Market & Deli, (Eastern European Treats), Aurora Carniceria (Mexican and Hispanic candies), and Costco (one bag of chocolate and one bag of non-chocolate).

The contact information is only used to contact the costume winner and is not used for future newsletter or subscription email marketing purposes. The waiver does allow the Havana BID to share the photos online and on social media.

The costume contest winners will be selected using the photo entries/waivers and contacted by phone by October 30, 2026, and photos will be posted on social media on @OnHavanaStreet Instagram and Facebook pages with NO names or contact information.

You do not need to be present to win the contest.

*The winners of the costume contest will be mailed the gift card this year. 

Over $720 in gift card prizes and Rocket Fizz candy for the winners of the various Costume Contest categories. We increased the gift card prizes. 

First Place Winners for the Group, Adult, Child & Pet Costume Categories will receive a $100 Gift Card from an On Havana Street business.

Second Place Winners for the Group, Adult, Child & Pet Costume Categories will receive a $50 Gift Card from an On Havana Street business.

Third Place Winner for the Group, Adult, Child & Pet Costume Categories will receive a $30 Gift Card from an On Havana Street business.

Go Trick or Treating:

Bring the whole family in costume to go trick-or-treating at the Merchants at The Gardens on Havana (former Buckingham Square Mall site) on the SE corner of Havana & Mississippi.  These 30+ merchants at The Gardens on Havana will all offer free candy for the kids (while candy supplies last).

Sally’s Beauty, Ross Dress for Less, AFC Urgent Care, Key Bank, McDonald’s, and Wells Fargo are not able to participate due to corporate rules.

Volunteer Opportunities with On Havana Street for Halloween 2026

• 2 Hours – Deliver candies to 30+ shops at The Gardens on Havana week of event – TBA when all candies are delivered
• 2 Hours – Pick up pallets of candies from 5 shops along The District in August – October 2026
• 2 Hours – set up Halloween decorations before the event on Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 9 am to 11 am.
• 2 Hours – Hand out candies on Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 11 am to 1 pm.
