Attention retail businesses and business stakeholders:
We welcome you to join us at an upcoming discussion and business roundtable with the Aurora Police Department, Arapahoe County ‘s District Attorney office, Mayor Coffman and Aurora City Council on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at 3pm-4:30pm at the *Nile Ethiopian Restaurant in the District in-person.
Aurora Police Department’s Chief Acevedo, Division Chief Carlson and Sgt Tom Graham will be in attendance.
Rebecca (Becky) Jochum – Deputy District Attorney, 18th Judicial District Attorney’s Office will be attendance on behalf of DA John Kellner.
We will be partnering with the African Chamber of Commerce and inviting their membership to attend this business round table to network and share their experiences, challenges and concerns on crime in the metro area.
*As of 11/17/2022 we had to change the meeting venue from Portico Eritrean and Ethiopian Restaurant, Bar and Patio Hookah to Nile Ethiopian Restaurant.
Unfortunately the Portico restaurant recently had a fire on the roof due to a roof contractor’s error. The restaurant is currently closed, but the owner is hoping to have the repairs completed by February 2023. We hope to host a future networking or outreach event at Portico in 2023.
This meeting is being scheduled to discuss ideas to reduce retail theft, property crimes and allow businesses to share their challenges with crime.
This meeting will host local retail outlets and businesses in Aurora, CO.
Complimentary African appetizers, beef sambusa, lentil sambusa, spinach sambusa, vegetarian combo platters and beverages will be provided by the Havana Business Improvement District. RSVP REQUIRED TO ATTEND.
The city of Aurora would like to hear more from retailers and shopping centers in Aurora on the new on-going challenges with crime, workforce, and their experiences on navigating the recovery of COVID-19.
Please RSVP below:
