Explore New International “EATS” On Havana Street

April 5th, 2017

Seoul BBQ Catering, 2080 S Havana St
Located next door to Seoul BBQ and owned/operated by Jimmy and Lily Kwon, this new catering option offers a variety of Korean side dishes.  The side dishes include Gosarinamul and Chwinamul—vegetable preparations with bracken and wild aster respectively, soups and stews, as well as a number of other dishes and baked goods.

Our resident “foodie,” Mark Tunnell, highly recommends the macaroons.  He has tried blackberry, peach, chocolate, and raspberry marcroons so far and they are all delicious!

Seoul BBQ Catering also offers a wide range of very healthy teas. The Yulmucha tea, made with the seeds colloquially called “Job’s tears” or sometimes “Adlay,” is very nourishing and restorative.

Gulzar Food Market, 10315 E Iliff Ave, Aurora CO
This is the former Aladdin’s Market in the Iliff Point Shopping Center.  Our resident “foodie,” Mark, went shopping at Gulzar Market recently and reported back that Gulzar Market stocks groceries from places like Syria, Lebanon, West Bank, etc. (basically the Levant region) but they also carry products from other parts of the Near and Middle East, as well as North Africa.  They have a large Halal meat section.

Coming Soon to Gulzar Market!  In about a month from now, they plan to be serving kebabs and other dishes, too.

(Reviews by On Havana Street neighbor and resident “foodie,” Mark Tunnell.  Thanks Mark!)
