Havana BID Businesses Support Comitis’ Rock It Sock It Fundraiser this Winter Season

March 4th, 2019

Thank you to all of the volunteers, sponsors, and people who donated items for this Rock It, Sock It event!

Special thanks to Falck Rocky Mountain – Aurora, Colorado for assisting the Aurora Police Department with making the deliveries. We also couldn’t have done this without help from the District 1 PAR and APD Volunteers. You are true examples of #CommunityCommitment.

Over 22,000 items (socks, toothbrushes, toiletries) were donated to this cause allowing us to make hundreds of care packages for members our community experiencing homelessness and deliver them to the Aurora Day Resource Center.

We are so proud of the Havana Businesses and all of our public private partnerships!

Thank you to our BID board members and businesses for hosting donation box locations On Havana Street. We had 4 stations on our business corridor at Auto Mart USA, Havana Auto Parts, Bank of the West and Colorado Rapids Youth Soccer Club.

We are so grateful for all the donations!

It was incredible to see our community coming together!

The common cause for homelessness is due to a health issue, loss of job or divorce.

This Rock It Sock It event benefits the Comitis Crisis Center which supports emergency housing, crisis intervention, short term treatment, aftercare, out reach, education, and prevention services throughout the Aurora metro area.

It’s important to remember, this can happen to ANYONE.

Thank you to all the volunteers and wonderful sponsors!
