The 7-Eleven at 6th & Havana has removed its old fuel storage tanks and is getting new tanks. Many truckloads of soil are being removed. This gas station had a monitoring station on site for the last 3-4 years. There was a strong smell of gasoline in the air while driving by the station on Oct 24 as the excavator was scooping soil and placing it into the dump trucks. The State is monitoring the process and we will end up with an environmentally clean site with new fuel storage tanks. We have not heard an estimate of how long this process is expected to take.
