Nominate an outstanding Aurora business for recognition by Dec. 15

The city of Aurora is accepting nominations from the community through Dec. 15 for its annual Aurora Business Recognition Awards Program, which began in 2005 to celebrate successful businesses that are leaders in the workplace and community. Award winners will be honored in mid-2024 at a ceremony that is still in the planning stages.

Nominees, which must be licensed in the city of Aurora and registered with the state of Colorado, will be evaluated by one or more of the following criteria: resiliency, innovation and creativity; service industry and hospitality; “small, small” businesses with great customer service; and diversity, equity and inclusion. Honorable mentions will also be given to community organizations, individuals, nonprofits and community initiatives.

Through the Business Recognition Awards Program established in 2005, the city of Aurora has acknowledged businesses in our community that have contributed to the city’s economic vitality. Honorees are presented with the award at a celebratory event hosted by the city.

The program recognizes not only the economic vitality that businesses of all sizes and types bring to Aurora, but also the support these businesses provide to their employees and broader community. Award winners will be honored in person this fall at the Aurora Municipal Center.

Nominees will be evaluated by one or more of the following criteria: resiliency and community impact; innovation and creativity; “small, small” businesses with great customer service; manufacturing; and equity, diversity and inclusion. Honorable mentions also will be given to essential heroes such as community organizations, individuals, nonprofits and community initiatives that continued to provide essential services throughout the pandemic.
