RTD ZERO FARE

July 26th, 2022

Hop on board RTD during Zero Fare for Better Air in August

It’s Zero Fare Transit Month in August on all buses and trains operated by RTD.

The Aurora City Council will consider a resolution in support of Zero Fare Transit on RTD on July 25. The city is joining other local governments in this collaborative approach to reducing air pollution and expanding mobility options for residents, regardless of age, income or ability.

About 84% of the greenhouse gas emissions that come from transportation are due to day-to-day commutes. From Aug. 1 to 31, RTD will offer zero fares across its system for all customers, providing a cleaner and cheaper transportation option.

RTD’s Zero Fare Transit is part of the statewide Zero Fare for Better Air initiative made possible by Colorado Senate Bill 22-180, in partnership with the Colorado Energy Office, to reduce ground level ozone by increasing the use of public transit during Colorado’s high ozone season.
