Denver’s dining scene appears to be top of mind this week, with Mayor Michael Hancock announcing plans to make some pop-up pandemic restaurant patios permanent and winterized outdoor tables in Alpenglobes and yurts making an a statement ahead of cold weather.
Then, on Thursday, Yelp released its list of the top 50 Denver-area restaurants “to celebrate the small mom & pop restaurants that make Denver a culinary destination.” The list, which ranks local establishments based on customer reviews, expanded this year to include not only those based in the Mile High City, but also in surrounding suburbs such as Aurora, Arvada and Westminster.
For this ranking, Yelp said it “identified the top places to eat in the restaurants and food categories, then ranked those spots using a number of factors including the total volume and ratings of reviews between Jan. 1, 2021, and Oct. 1, 2021.”
