Village at Westerly Creek Phase III Plans Approved

On January 25, 2017,the Aurora Planning Commission approved the site plan for Phase III of Village at Westerly Creek.  This is the Aurora Housing Authority project to replace the former Buckingham Gardens at Ironton and Kentucky, to the east of Havana Machine.  Phases I and II have been completed and currently house low income seniors and the disabled.

Phase III calls for eight residential buildings and one maintenance building.  The site is 5.4 acres.  New townhomes and stacked flats with 1-4 bedrooms will provide 50 low-income family units and 24 low-income senior units.  There will be a central playground and a community garden.  There will be an on-site manager and staff who are employees of the Aurora Housing Authority.  Construction will be “Enterprise Green Community” energy efficient rated, which is a requirement of CHFA.  Construction is expected to begin in March or April, weather permitting.
