Whisper’s Bar & Grill will be closing at its current location at 1930 S Havana on December 31. The new owners of the Birchtree Center have other plans for this tenant space and did not renew Whisper’s lease. Whisper’s owner, Terry Forehand, is working with a financial partner to reopen Whisper’s at another location along Havana in a few months. In the meantime, all of the fixtures, furniture and equipment will be put into storage until the new location is ready.
Whisper’s has been open in the same location at 1930 S Havana for over 30 years. Terry and her husband Danny Forehand owned/operated Whisper’s until Danny’s death in April of 2002. Since then, Terry has owned/operated the restaurant with the help of their son, Dustin, who is now 34. Dustin and his wife have a toddler with another baby on the way. Terry plans to spend a little more time with her family while working to find a new location for the bar. Knowing Terry, we are confident that Whisper’s will reopen bigger and even better in 2017.
