If you prefer cake and pastries over donuts, you are in luck. A new shop opened about two weeks ago at Yale Place Shopping Center, 2690 S Havana ST, #11, behind Honeybaked Ham at Yale & Havana. Yan Li, a lovely young Korean woman, is the owner and baker.
Everything is made fresh in the production kitchen in the rear of the store. They have beautiful cakes displayed in their showcase, including wedding cakes. They have racks of fresh pastries, individually wrapped. Their “milk bread” is light and airy and would make perfect French toast. Their individual “sponge cakes” are light and delicious and are perfect for strawberry shortcake.
