7th Annual Grocery Cart Races to Benefit the Homeless

Calling all grocery cart racing teams and their supporters!   Your participation in our 7^th Annual Grocery Cart Races to benefit Comitis Crisis Center, Aurora’s only homeless shelter, will help out the homeless in our community!   The races will take place at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 14, at Safeway at 1677 S Havana St, Aurora CO 80012.

Here is what you need to do:

• Form a team of 3-4 racers.
• Come up with a team name, theme, cart decoration ideas and costume ideas.
• Use the attached sheet to solicit donations for Comitis Crisis Center on behalf of your team.
• Be a super shopper by using half the money that your team raises in donations to go shopping for the nonperishable items off of the Comitis Food Pantry Wish List (the other half of the money you raise goes directly to Comitis for the purchase of perishable items throughout the year).
• Be ready to race on Tuesday, March 14, at 7 p.m. and bring your friends and family along to cheer you on to victory!
• Join us immediately after the races at Gibby’s Big Backyard (next door to Safeway)for the awards ceremony where we will announce the heat winners, as well as best costume, best cart decoration and top fund raiser.
• This event raised $45,000 last year, and our goal this year is to raise $60,000 for Comitis Crisis Center!
