We Won the 2016 Greenie Sustainability Award!

December 30th, 2016

Entercom Communications just announced the two winners of the 2016 Greenie Awards from their [1THING] Sustainability Initiative–We Won!  Our April 2016 Earth Day Electronic Recycling event called “SOUND” and the Prom Rack Initiative event in Austin, Texas, were the Greenie Awards winners for 2016!

Each year at the national level, Entercom encourages their local markets to develop and implement a [1THING] project that will positively impact their communities.  Through these projects, the communities are asked to come up with 1THING that people can do for the betterment of the environment,  Several markets participated, but our Denver market was a winner.  The Havana Business Improvement District teamed up with Entercom Communications locally and their radio stations including Alice, Comedy 103.1, Cruisin’ 1430 KEZW, KS 107.6 and The Mountain and our recycler Techno+Rescue to plan and implement the 2016 Earth Day Electronic Recycling event with a huge response! We are very proud to have received this sustainability award–it is a great honor!

In 2017, we plan to team up with the same partners on the Earth Day Electronic Recycling Event on Saturday, April 22, 2017, which is the official national Earth Day!  We just received permission from the Matrix Group, owners of the Waterpark/Kaiser at Parker Rd and Havana, to use their big parking lot in 2017 for our Earth Day Electronic Recycling Event, and we are going after another Greenie Award in 2017!  This is an easy way for you to do [1THING] in 2017 to better the environment and keep old electronics out of our landfills.  Watch the EVENTS page on our website as we will post more details closer to the April 22, 2017 event.

Thank you for your help in winning the 2016 Greenie Award!  Thank you Entercom and Tech+Rescue, too!
